Friday Junior Evenings
SPLASH NIGHT
Aimed at juniors that aren’t quite old enough to start the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme just yet. They can start Splash Night from the age of 5.
An evening of fun on/in the water in a dinghy with an instructor. A great way to introduce juniors to sailing.
A parent/designated guardian will need to be present to help out throughout the evening. We will ensure that safe ratios are maintained on the water but will be immensely grateful for parents/designated guardians to be on hand to help rig and de-rig boats and help whilst boats and children are on the shore. We are always happy to take out willing parents/designated guardians in the safety boats too.
Cost: £4 per child for members, £8 per child for non-members.
FRIDAY FUN NIGHT
Aimed at juniors and youth sailing who want to practice their skills in a safe and fun environment.
You need to have passed RYA Stage 2 and there will be instructors about to help out and safety boats on the water.
Club boats are available or use your own boat.
Cost: £4 per child (members only)
Kit to bring.
Sailing gear to include
Wetsuit
Buoyancy aid for competent swimmers (minimum 50 Newtons) (we have some if needed)
Life jackets (foam) to be worn by non swimmers (minimum 100 Newtons)
Footwear (Grippy shoes that can get wet. Wetsuit boots or shoes, or trainers are fine, Plimsoles, Crocs or Wellies not ok)
Swim gear and/or rash vest for under the wetsuit
Waterproof jacket or spray top
Towel
Sun protection including suncream/sun hat
Warm hat for colder days
Water bottle is useful
