EXE SAILING CLUB

'Tornado', Shelly Road, Exmouth, Devon EX8 1EG Telephone 01395 264607

The Club

Is situated in Exmouth, close to the marina/harbour at the mouth of the beautiful Exe estuary and is the largest sailing club on the Exe. The Club encourages all forms of sailing. It is possible to sail from the club at all states of the tide, although skill is required to cope with fast flowing tides which occur at certain times in the mouth of the estuary.

The Clubhouse

Is a modern, purpose-built building on the shores of the estuary surrounded on the landward side by modern residential properties. It has excellent facilities for members including changing rooms and showers, a club room and a well-equipped kitchen.

There are panoramic views over the estuary from the first floor lounge bar, which has recently been extended, and a new balcony built. Sunsets over the Exe are spectacular

Location

Coming into Exmouth from Exeter on the A376, you eventually arrive at a large roundabout with the town centre on the left, and rail and bus stations on the right.  Go straight on to the next large roundabout, and again, straight on.  The road narrows and bears right into Camperdown Terrace.  Carry on down Camperdown Terrace.  Turn left at the end, then right, and the club entrance is to be found on the right hand side, in amongst the new Exmouth Quay development.
